MVC with injury and Rescue

1234 pm EMT Andrews was out fueling Command 9 and reported an MVC at the intersection of Main St and Ocean Gateway. This was upgraded to a rescue and 2 additional ambulances were requested. This upgraded response to Hebron VFC as well. Based on staffing issues Sharptown was also requested. Units arrived and found 1 vehicle in intersection and a second vehicle had gone off the roadway in the woods. The passenger of the vehicle in the woods was trapped in the vehicle do to trees that had to be cut out of the way to complete extrication. 5 patients were transproted to the hospital and units remained on the scene for vehicle removal. East bound Ocean Gateway was closed to all traffic for about an hour. Our thanks to Hebron and Sharptown Fire Depts for the assistance
